We are pleased to invite you to the
Danish Battery Symposium 2018
at Danish Technological Institute in Taastrup
Wednesday, 7th of March 2018
from 9.00 to 16.30
The symposium dinner is from 18:00 at DTI in Taastrup
This is the 6th annual symposium in the Danish Battery Society and we look very much forward to welcome you. We have worked hard to put together an exciting program with internationally renowned speakers within flow batteries, battery safety and battery application. In addition to the talks, we will have member updates, a breakout session with three parallel tracks and a lab tour.
The symposium is hosted by Danish Technological Institute (DTI) in Taastrup and during the day, employees at DTI will present their current activities within batteries. More info on the lab tour here.
The invited speakers are:
Dr. Eric C. Darcy on battery safety in the NASA space suit
Dr. Peter Fischer on flow batteries
Kim Rasmussen on batteries in hearing aids
The breakout session provide a unique opportunity to dig deeper into a subject and it has turned in to a recurrent event at our annual symposium. This year, the breakout session tracks will focus on flow batteries, battery safety and in-situ X-ray characterization.
The general meeting is planned for an afternoon session at 16:45, between the symposium and the dinner. For those not attending the general meeting, we will serve refreshments and encourage to networking with the other participants.
Symposium fee
The symposium fee is:
DKK 500 for members (Both personal members and employees of member companies/institutes)
DKK 800 for non-members (You can sign up as a member just after signing up for the symposium below)
DKK 200 for student members (Bachelor- and master-student members)
After the symposium we will host a dinner. The society will cover half of the dinner costs so that we can offer a cozy dinner with battery aficionados for only DKK 200 per participant. You can sign up for the conference and as a member at the same time to get your discount at our website.

Our Goal
The battery research is blooming in Denmark and a number of Danish companies are already focusing on developing materials and implementing batteries in commercial products.
The active players in Denmark are often small groups and to compete internationally, we see a need for exchange of knowledge and experience, i.e. characterization methods, lab facilities, types of batteries and market trends.
In recent years a number of interest groups have been founded to meet a need of sharing knowledge within a specific type of battery chemistry or a specific application of batteries, but so far no association has tried to gather and share information across the various research areas.
The purpose of the Danish Battery Society is to create a forum to share knowledge through targeted events and an annual meeting.
