Invitation to the first meeting in the Danish Battery Society
The battery research is blooming again at the universities around the country and a number of Danish companies are already focusing on implementing batteries in commercial products. The active players in Denmark are often small groups and to compete internationally, we see a need for exchange of knowledge and experience, i.e. characterization methods, lab facilities, types of batteries and market trends.
In recent years a number of interest groups have been founded to meet a need of sharing knowledge within a specific type of battery chemistry or a specific application of batteries, but so far no association has tried to gather and share information across the various research areas.
It is therefore suggested to found the Danish Battery Society to promote a broad collaboration within electrochemical energy storage in Denmark. The purpose is to create a forum to share knowledge through targeted events and an annual meeting.
The first meeting takes place in
the Niels Bohr auditorium at DTU, Risø campus
Friday 1 March 2013 at 9am – 5pm
We have gathered 11 speakers together from universities and industry to give the participants and overview of the current battery activities in Denmark and to get an overview of the entire battery value chain from development to application. The entire program and information on talks and speakers are found on this page. Further more, the meeting will have a formal part with adoption of statutes and election of a board.
You can sign up for the meeting at this site until 21 February 2013. It is an open meeting and you are very welcome to forward this invitation in your network.
We look forward seeing you!
