Field of research:
Solid state chemistry and materials science, especially structure/properties relations in materials for energy technology and catalysis. Synthesis of inorganic materials and nanomaterials using e.g. soft chemistry methods as hydrothermal synthesis. Structural characterization using powder and single crystal X-ray, synchrotron X-ray and neutron diffraction. In situ diffraction studies of synthesis, chemical reactions and operating catalytic and electrochemical systems using synchrotron and conventional X-ray radiation. New battery materials and battery technology, especially lithium-ion and lithium-air batteries; materials synthesis and electrochemical properties, in situ studies of synthesis, materials reaction and full battery cells.
