The Danish Batterysociety focus on three events to share knowledge:
The annual meeting
The annual meeting will be hosted by university- and company-members in turn. The meeting is an important platform to share results and experience across different areas of research and development. The meeting will also include invited talks from internationally renowned researchers and companies. The first meeting was held at the Technical University of Denmark, Risø Campus on 1 March 2013.
Discussion sessions
A series of events with a focus on research will combine the different competences available throughout the country so that it will be possible to develop a national best-practise in relation to development and test of materials and battery cells. Previous discussion sessions include Synthesis and characterizations methods, Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and Test of large batteries.
Public talks
The public talks are 2-4 hour events on topics of general interest. Relevant speakers are invited to give qualified input to the discussion. Previous public talks include Battery powered trains and Emerging Battery Technologies.
In addition to these meetings, DBS will arrange visits at relevant institutions and companies.
Future activities
Looking a couple of years ahead, the activities could be expanded to comprise:
– Publication of electronic news letter and news feed
– Organization of nordic and international meetings and seminars
– Membership of the International Battery Association (IBA)
